The Brief
In my second year of University I became the social media manager for the Bournemouth University K-Pop Society.
The role involved establishing and promoting the brand via its social media accounts and creating marketing content across several platforms, as well as taking a lead role in events management and general society operations. I made weekly content to advertise the society to current and new members, including Instagram posts, reels, video edits, website banners, posters and YouTube thumbnails, using knowledge from my degree to perfect each one. In doing so, our membership numbers grew from 20 to 150 in the time I was there.
The branding I created for their social media was based on the prominent 'Y2K' aesthetics of the K-Pop industry. This involves lots of minimalist detail, futuristic font families, star-like shapes and chrome textures.
